1. What year did you become involved/take on your current role in your Service Unit?
I believe it was around 2015
2. What area is included in your Service Unit?
Elmore County Troops: 9192, 9008, 9731
3. When and where does your Service Unit meet?
We try to meet quarterly at a local restaurant. We also stay in touch in between with a group chat and private Facebook page..
4. What is your favorite type of Girl Scout activity?
That’s tough, because I have enjoyed badges in all of them! That said, I have really enjoyed outdoor activities and camping with my troop.
5. What would you say your Service Unit is known for?
We are small, but we try to give our girls activities like the bigger Service Units.
6. What do you look forward to the most in your role with the Service Unit?
Helping the troops!
7. What achievement are you most proud of when it comes to Girl Scouts?
Overall, supporting girls as a troop coordinator and watching them grow! I am proud that I got to support my daughter throughout Girl Scouts! She started in 1st grade and was still a member when she graduated…earning bronze, silver, and gold and also being a camp counselor! I’m really proud that she is now a Girl Scout meeting coordinator!
8. What is your favorite memory with Girl Scouts, either as a girl member, a Troop Coordinator, or in a Service Unit role?
All of the big cookie trips each year! We got to do a lot we wouldn’t have done without Girl Scouts. I really enjoyed the last trip we took when my daughter was a senior. We took the seniors to Savannah, Helen, and the Biltmore Estate. It was a nice trip for the seniors!
