Camp Sunshine is a program specifically designed for girls who have limited summertime recreational opportunities. Each year in the first week of June, Camp Sunshine for Girls serves 75 girls, ranging in age from six (who have completed first grade) to 12 years old. Led by an entire volunteer staff, Camp Sunshine is provided without cost to campers and their families. Camp Sunshine includes a day at Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama’s camp property on Lake Martin.
Camp Sunshine is sponsored by Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama in collaboration with other community institutions, organizations, agencies, and volunteers. Camp Sunshine is totally funded through contributions and in-kind gifts.
