Grab your Girl Scout Vest, hat, and boots - the Rodeo is coming to
town! The SLE (Southeastern Livestock Expo) will be hosting 4 Rodeo
performances over the whole weekend at the Garrett Coliseum in
Montgomery. Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama will have a
behind-the-scenes session to Performance #2 on Saturday, March 15th.
The 68th annual SLE Rodeo will feature eight rodeo events including:
Saddle Bronc, Bareback Riding, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Team
Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, and WPRA Breakaway Roping!
Enjoy edge-of-your-seat action as well as the featured western
entertainment brought to you by Jessica Blair Fowlkes (roman rider)
and Dusty Myers (rodeo clown).
The exclusive behind-the-scenes
session will begin at 11am and includes arena floor access for a meet
& greet with real cowgirls and cowboys. After the session,
participants will be led to their seats for the 1-3 pm show. SLE Rodeo
Patches are available for pre-order for $4 in your registration.
If you are looking for more rodeo fun, there will be a FREE Western
Festival on Saturday Morning from 9:00 - 10:45 am. The Western
Festival is geared towards children ages 3-10 and includes bouncy
ponies, dummy roping, mutton bustin', wagon rides, face painting and
so much more ready to be enjoyed at this FREE event. NO registration
is required for the Western Festival.
Older Girl Scouts (6th -
12th grade) are invited to volunteer at the festival to help with game
stations, races, and more. If your Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador is
